New Lists is Affinity’s rebuilt Lists experience. New Affinity organizations now start on New Lists by default, and existing customers are moving over in stages. This guide covers what you can do today, what isn’t in New Lists yet, and where to go deeper on each capability.
Need a Classic-only workflow? You can switch back to Classic Lists anytime from list options — the gear icon in the top right of the list — we’ll ask why, which directly shapes what we build next. See What’s not yet in New Lists below.

What is New Lists?

A list in New Lists: pipeline rows with colour-coded status, owners and enriched columns New Lists is a completely reimagined experience for managing your pipeline, relationships, and opportunities in Affinity. Built from the ground up with modern technology, it brings powerful capabilities like advanced filtering with AND/OR logic, saved views that preserve your filters and sorts, lightning-fast performance, and intuitive workflows that help you work more efficiently. Why we built New Lists:
  • More powerful filtering — combine conditions with AND/OR logic, use advanced operators, and build sophisticated queries
  • Better performance — faster loading, smoother scrolling, and more responsive interactions
  • Modern workflows — intuitive editing, improved search, and streamlined data management
  • Foundation for the future — enables AI features, automation, and capabilities not possible in Classic Lists

What you can do in New Lists

The same list as a board view, with cards grouped into pipeline status columns These capabilities are supported today:
  • Filtering — every field filterable, AND/OR boolean logic, advanced operators, and filter grouping
  • Sorting — up to 5 sort levels across more sortable fields
  • Search — Find in View
  • Editing — one-click cell editing, keyboard navigation, number/date shortcuts, and copy/paste
  • Fields — create and edit fields, including dropdown, ranked dropdown, and status fields, with option management (add, rename, reorder, delete options from the column header)
  • List management — rename, delete, duplicate, and favorite lists
  • Saved views — save, duplicate, and manage views
  • Records — add with enhanced search, duplicate detection, required fields, and trigger support; create a new company, person, or opportunity directly from a cell or board card; remove records from a list
  • Export to CSV
  • Board (Kanban) view — drag cards between columns, reorder card fields, and group by status or other dropdown fields
  • Platform — Affinity Analytics and Directories support, enhanced field display, and enrichment display styles
Migrating from Classic? Your existing saved views open automatically in New Lists. When you save with a New-Lists-only feature (like advanced filters), Affinity creates a view variant so your Classic version is preserved for teammates still on Classic. See the Saved Views in New Lists Reference.

What’s not yet in New Lists — and what to do instead

A limited set of lower-usage Classic features aren’t in New Lists yet. Each has a workaround, and we’re evaluating them for New Lists through 2026 based on your feedback.
Triggers: existing triggers run as normal in New Lists, and trigger support works when adding records. However, creating or editing trigger rules isn’t available in New Lists yet — switch that list to Classic to configure triggers. Trigger setup arrives in New Lists by the end of Q3 2026, when Classic Lists is retired.

List options in New Lists

List Options menu: Enrichment Style, Edit statuses, Rename, Duplicate, Delete, the Resources links, and Switch back to Classic In New Lists, List Options is the gear icon in the top right of the list. It’s a shorter menu than Classic’s — several list-level actions are still set up in the Classic experience. Everything below is still set up from Classic. Switch that list to Classic from List Options, do what you need, and switch back.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. New Lists is becoming the default, but you can switch an individual list back to Classic anytime. Data stays synchronized across both, and view variants preserve your New Lists configurations.
Switch an individual list back to Classic from list options — the gear icon in the top right of the list. When you switch back, we’ll ask a quick question about why — that feedback directly informs which remaining features we prioritize for New Lists.
Yes. All views open in New Lists. If you save using New-Lists-only features, Affinity creates a variant while preserving your Classic version for teammates still on Classic.
Existing triggers run as normal, and trigger support works when you add records. To create or edit trigger rules, switch that list to Classic for now. Trigger setup arrives in New Lists by the end of Q3 2026, when Classic Lists is retired.
In New Lists, filtering moved into a dedicated popover so it can support AND/OR logic and advanced operators. Open the column header → Filter to build your filter there. Inline (single-click) filtering from the header isn’t available in New Lists yet.
Yes. Start typing in a company, person, or opportunity cell — or on a board card — and choose to create the record from there. Affinity pre-associates it with the row you’re on. You can also still use global Add New.
Yes. Board view is available in New Lists. Drag cards between columns to move a record through your pipeline, reorder the fields shown on a card, and group by status or another dropdown field.
Export to CSV is available in New Lists. (Direct Excel export from the new experience isn’t; CSV opens in Excel.)
Bulk email isn’t available in New Lists yet. Switch that list to Classic (from list options — the gear icon in the top right) to send bulk email for now. We’re evaluating how best to bring bulk outreach to the new experience, including through the Affinity API / MCP.
Not at the moment. For calculations across fields on a record, see list calculations with the formula field.
Yes. Opportunities lists work in New Lists today. If there’s specific functionality you’re looking for, share it with your CSM.
Yes. All data changes — entry additions, value edits, and more — stay consistent across both experiences.
Click the list name in the header to edit directly, or use List options → Rename list. Changes save automatically and update across all views and navigation. (Renaming may not immediately update in the Favorites sidebar — refresh the page to see the new name.)
Go to List options → Delete list and confirm. Deletion permanently removes the list, all its views, and all list-specific fields, and cannot be undone — there is no recovery option.
Go to List options → Duplicate list and choose: No views (blank copy with all fields), With views (copies views too), or With views + permissions (also copies sharing). Name the new list and click Create. It appears in your navigation with all custom fields, dropdown options, and triggers from the original.
Click the star on the right side of the list toolbar. Favorited lists appear in your navigation sidebar under “Favorites.” (The favorite control is on the right in New Lists, moved from the left in Classic.)
Click the field’s column header → Edit field to add (type and press Enter), rename, reorder (drag and drop), or delete options. Changes to global fields affect all lists using that field; changes to list-specific fields affect only the current list. (After first creating a dropdown field, you may need to reload the page before Edit field appears.)Deleting an option clears that value from every cell using it — across every list using the field if it’s a global field. There’s no undo, so check where the option is in use first.
Click the three-dot menu on any row and select Remove from list. The record is removed immediately with an Undo option in the notification (no confirmation modal). The record still exists in Affinity — it’s just no longer on this list. (View-only users won’t see the remove option.)
Classic Lists will be retired at the end of Q3 2026. New Lists is rolling out to customers in stages until then. The Classic-only features listed above will be available in New Lists before Classic is retired, apart from bulk email — we’re still evaluating the best approach there, including through the Affinity API / MCP. We’ll communicate well ahead of the change.
