Goal

Generate the data slice your LPs want — pipeline value, deals closed, portfolio snapshot — in a format you can paste into a deck or report.

What you’ll do

  1. Build a saved view for each report section
  2. Export each view as a CSV
  3. Combine into your LP report template

Step by step

1. Build saved views for each section

You’ll typically want at least three views:
  • Active Pipeline — filter by Status is not ‘Closed Won/Lost’, show Deal Value, Stage, Owner, Last Contact
  • Closed This Quarter — filter by Status = Closed Won AND Date Closed in last 90 days
  • Portfolio Snapshot — your portfolio list with Investment Date, Stage, KPIs visible

2. Export each view to CSV

From each saved view, click Export (top-right menu) → Export view as CSV. The download includes only the columns visible in your view. For export details: How to export data from Affinity

3. Combine into your LP template

Open the CSVs in your spreadsheet tool. Most LP reports want:
  • Total active pipeline value
  • Deals closed this quarter (count + value)
  • New investments + amounts
  • Top 5 deals by value
Pivot tables on the exported data give you these in seconds.

Tips

  • Run this same view + export on the same day each quarter for comparable trends
  • For richer analytics (charts, comparisons), build a custom analytics dashboard instead
