Crunchbase data in Affinity
Here are some restrictions on how Crunchbase data can be used in Affinity.
Impact of Crunchbase restrictions
What is allowed/restricted when it comes to Crunchbase data in Affinity?
- You can still access Crunchbase data within the Affinity CRM.
- You cannot leverage Crunchbase data within Affinity Analytics.
- You cannot export Crunchbase data outside the Affinity CRM.
- Saved Views - When exporting saved views within a list, Crunchbase data will not be included in the exported CSV file. Use Affinity Data instead.
- Basic Reporting - When Crunchbase data is selected within the Group by feature in Affinity's Basic Reporting, the Export to CSV button will be disabled. Use Affinity Data instead.
- You cannot access Crunchbase data via the Affinity API. This means that any previous API integrations you may have created for your organization leveraging Crunchbase data will no longer return any values.
- You can no longer GET, POST, PUT, or DELETE for any of the Crunchbase fields for an organization.
- If you also use Affinity webhooks, you will no longer receive webhooks for changes made to the Crunchbase columns.
How often is Crunchbase data updated in Affinity?
Crunchbase data is updated every 2 weeks.
What Crunchbase fields are available in Affinity?
Note that the "X" markings below indicate that the field is currently available in the Affinity CRM. We highly suggest using the Affinity Data field equivalents for API access, Affinity Analytics, and exports.

Description | X* | X |
Location | X* | X |
Industry | X* | X |
Number of Employees | X* | X |

* - These Crunchbase fields are not exportable or available for API access.
Field Name (Funding) | Crunchbase | Affinity Data |
Investment Stage | X* | X |
Investors | X* | X |
Last Funding Date | X* | X |
Last Funding Amount | X* | X |
Total Funding Amount | X* | X |
* - These Crunchbase fields are not exportable or available for API access.
What about the manual edits I've made to Crunchbase fields?
Any cells in Crunchbase columns that were manually edited are considered your Organization Data, therefore breaking the sync with Crunchbase.
- To re-enrich these specific cells with Crunchbase data, you must delete all the values and leave the cell blank - Affinity will re-enrich these cells with Crunchbase data over the next 24 hours.
Your manually added/edited field values will continue to exist in Crunchbase columns and Crunchbase column fields will continue to be editable, however Crunchbase columns containing manually edits will still not be available over APIs or exports.
Introducing Affinity Data
In order to empower our customers to generate the best insights possible, our goal is to provide the most complete, reliable, and highest quality datasets available in Affinity. As the leading relationship intelligence platform, we are excited to introduce Affinity Data.
Affinity APIs and Webhooks
Crunchbase columns and their data are not available for API access - any API calls to these columns will still be made, but just return empty values.
- If you also use Affinity webhooks, you will no longer receive webhooks for changes made to the Crunchbase columns.
- If you previously set up integrations with API calls to Crunchbase fields, we recommend you replace them with API calls to Affinity Data fields instead. Otherwise, you can remove that portion of your integration altogether.
