# Prompts for Affinity AI Chat

> Copy-paste prompts for Affinity AI Chat — ask about your CRM and take four confirm-before-execute actions, all inside Affinity.

Prompts you can run in **Affinity AI Chat** — the conversational assistant built into Affinity (no setup). Chat **answers questions** about your CRM with cited sources and, new at launch, takes **four confirm-before-execute actions**: it proposes the change, you confirm, then it executes. Nothing is written until you approve.

These are *examples* — natural language, so wording is flexible. **Be specific:** name the entity, the list, the timeframe, and the criteria. For anything beyond a lookup, think **Context → Task → Constraints**.

  **Fastest start:** open **Meetings** in the left nav, go to the meeting's date, open the external meeting, and click **Prep for meeting** — AI Chat opens with a prep prompt already filled in.

* *"Which deals in \[Pipeline] haven't we contacted in 90 days?"*
* *"Which opportunities moved to \[Stage] this week?"*
* *"Show me deals in \[Stage] with no activity recently."*
* *"What needs updating before Monday's pipeline meeting?"*

### Portfolio & IR / LP

* *"Which portfolio companies haven't we spoken to this quarter?"*
* *"Summarize our last interaction with \[Firm]."*
* *"When did I last speak with \[LP / Firm]?"*
* *"Show me the team's notes on \[Firm]."*

## Take an action (confirm-before-execute)

Ask Chat to make a change; it shows the exact change, you confirm, then it executes. **Four actions at launch** — Chat handles them **one at a time** (never a bulk change):

* **Update a field or pipeline stage** — *"Move \[Company] to 'Due Diligence'."* · *"Set \[Company]'s employee count to 500."* · *"Set \[Company]'s priority to High."*
* **Add to a list** (one record at a time) — *"Add \[Company] to my 'Q3 Targets' list."*
* **Create a note** (on a **person, company, or opportunity**) — *"Log a note on \[Company]: discussed Series B timeline; follow up in two weeks."*
* **Create a reminder** (for yourself) — *"Remind me to follow up with \[Person] next Tuesday."*

  **Create Note in Chat attaches to a record, not a meeting** — so it doesn't create the *meeting* note that the Data Update agent reads. ## Warm introductions

The **Warm Intro** agent runs on demand from Chat — it finds the strongest paths to a target across your firm's network and drafts the outreach. It never sends on your behalf.

* *"Who can introduce me to \[Person] at \[Company]?"* → ranked paths, with the connector for each.
* *"What's the warmest path to \[Company]'s \[role]?"*
* *"Draft an intro request to \[connector] for \[target]."* → a draft you review, edit, and send yourself.

## Good to know (what Chat doesn't do at launch)

* **One change at a time** — no bulk updates across many records (do those over [MCP](/s/article/Prompts-for-Affinity-MCP)).
* **No file uploads** — it can't read a pitch deck or attach a file (an MCP client can).
* **Search is by name/email** — searching people by attribute (background, title, location) and location filtering are post-launch and can be unreliable.
* **\~90-day activity window** — very long-range "first ever interaction" questions can be truncated.
* **Reading your Meeting Prep brief and reviewing Suggested Field Updates *in Chat*** are fast-follows — at launch you review agent output in **Ascend**, not Chat.
