# Affinity in 2026

We're excited to share with you the notable features we have released in 2026. Stay tuned for more updates.

## January 2026

1. **New:** Manage Apps — IP Address Allowlists for API Keys — Define specific IP addresses or ranges allowed to use each API key, providing security controls in case of compromised keys and ensuring only intended clients can access integrations.
2. **New:** iOS/iPad App — View Uploaded Files — View, download, and share CRM-uploaded files in a new Files tab on Organization, Person, and Opportunity profiles, with in-app preview for common file types and sharing via iOS share sheet. (App version 5.41.0 required)
3. **Improved:** New Lists — Analytics Dashboards now viewable in New Lists experience, eliminating the need to switch back to Classic to view analytics dashboards.
4. **New:** Snowflake Integration — Beta — Advanced and Enterprise customers can access Affinity data (Companies, People, Opportunities, List Entries, Field Metadata) via Snowflake Share for data warehouse analytics without building API scripts or middleware.
5. **New:** Suggested Field Updates for Pitch Deck Analyzer — Affinity Labs Experiment — Automatically extract data from analyzed pitch decks and suggest updates for company and person profile fields, eliminating manual data entry and keeping records accurate with one-click application.
6. **New:** See Global Company Data on Out-of-Network Profiles — View enriched company data (industry, funding, stage) on out-of-network profiles without making the company org-relevant, enabling validation of semantic search results and faster sourcing decisions. (Crunchbase and Pitchbook data excluded per partnership constraints)
7. **New:** Get Transcripts API — Open Beta — Fetch Affinity Notetaker meeting transcripts via API V2 with timestamped fragments and speaker identification, enabling LLM-based analysis and external tool integrations.
8. **New:** Affinity Developer Portal — Modern API documentation platform at developer.affinity.co featuring improved UX, AI search, dark/light themes, API playground, and better readability for AI agents. (API V1 docs remain at api-docs.affinity.co)
9. **Improved:** Notes API V2 Performance — 82% faster performance for fetching notes with related entities (organizations, people, opportunities), reducing full dataset fetch time from \~100 minutes to \~15 minutes for power users with \~100k notes.
10. **New:** Enriched Data Viewing in New Lists (Open Beta) — Choose between Minimal (default) or Classic appearance styles for enriched data, with yellow highlights for manual overrides and green text for enriched data, plus click-to-view enrichment source details (Affinity Data, Crunchbase, PitchBook, Dealroom).

## February 2026

1. **Improved:** Affinity Enrichment Matching For People — Person records now matched to enriched data via all emails AND manually added LinkedIn URLs (not just primary email).
2. **New:** New Lists — Copy and Paste — Copy and paste functionality now available in New Lists for moving data between cells within the same field type using keyboard shortcuts (Cmd+C/Ctrl+C to copy, Cmd+V/Ctrl+V to paste), supporting single or bulk cell selection.

## March 2026

1. **New:** MCP (Model Context Protocol) Beta — Beta release allows customers to integrate Affinity directly with AI tools (Claude, Gemini, GitHub Copilot) to query data about companies, people, and notes for workflows like meeting prep, research, and pipeline management. Can be hosted on customer workstation or private cloud. (Note: ChatGPT not currently supported)
2. **Improved:** People Location Data Quality — Overhauled location management system using AI to identify and fix incorrect locations.
3. **Improved:** University & Educational Email Domain Handling — University, edu, and alumni domains now treated as generic email addresses in Company↔Activity association logic, preventing meetings/emails from being incorrectly attributed to parent institutions instead of the actual companies contacts represent.
4. **Improved:** Snowflake Beta V.02 — Expanded Snowflake Data Share coverage by 5x to include 30+ data tables: Notes, Interactions, Relationship Scores, Transcripts, Lists, and their associations, with supporting documentation for tables and example queries.
5. **New:** New Lists — Directories Support — New Lists experience now available in All Companies and All People directories with all current features (filtering, sorting, editing), accessible via toggle in upper right corner.
6. **New:** See Global Company Data on Out-of-Network Profiles — GA Release — View enriched company data (industry, funding, stage) on out-of-network profiles without making the company org-relevant, enabling faster sourcing decisions and reducing unnecessary network additions. (Crunchbase and Pitchbook data excluded per partnership constraints)
7. **Improved:** Pitch Deck Analyzer — Suggested Field Updates now support Opportunities — Affinity Labs Experiment — AI-powered field update suggestions from pitch decks now available for Opportunity profiles in addition to Company and Person profiles, extending capability to PE customers who primarily use Opportunities for deal tracking.
8. **New:** iOS/iPad App — Upload and Manage Files — Upload files to Company, Person, and Opportunity profiles via camera or file picker, delete uploaded files, and edit sharing permissions directly from mobile. Take photos with camera and upload directly (great for capturing handwritten notes at conferences). (App version 5.45.0 required, max file size 100MB)
9. **New:** MCP Beta — Incremental Release — Added write capabilities: add companies/people to lists, update fields on list entries, create and read reminders, fetch recent call transcripts, and get relationship scores for people.
10. **New:** List Dropdown Options API — Fetch all available options for dropdown fields programmatically via API, including dropdown text, identifiers, rank (for ranked dropdowns), and color (for status dropdowns), simplifying integrations and automations that update dropdown fields.
11. **Improved:** Affinity Labs — Sunset Two Experiments — Retired "Summarize Recent Activities" (metadata-only summaries didn't provide discussion insights) and "Recent News on People Profiles" (low signal-to-noise ratio). Experiment Archive documents learnings in Labs help doc.
12. **New:** New Lists — Field Creation & Management — Create and delete custom fields (Text, Number, Date, Location, Person, Organization) directly in New Lists via "+" button, Customize Panel, or field headers without toggling back to Classic Lists. (Formula fields coming in a future release)

## April 2026

1. **New:** Suggested Field Updates from Notes — Trigger AI analysis of note content to surface suggested CRM field updates (funding stage, revenue, team size, etc.) with before/after comparison and one-click application. Available from Notes tab on profiles, list Notes sidebar, and single note page. Supports text, multiline text, number, date, and location fields for company, person, and opportunity profiles.
2. **New:** Notes Center — Browse, filter, and search all firm notes in one centralized location accessible from left sidebar. Filter by author, date range, associated entity, capture method (AI Notetaker vs manual), and keyword with AND/OR logic. View Notetaker summaries and transcripts, create new notes directly. Defaults to showing notes from last 6 months for performance; notes associated with blocklisted entities are automatically hidden.
3. **New:** MCP (Model Context Protocol) — Fully hosted MCP with OAuth authentication ("Login with Affinity" flow) now supports Claude (Desktop, Web, Code), ChatGPT (Business/Plus plans minimum), Notion, Gemini CLI, Copilot, and most MCP-compatible tools. Includes all read/write operations (fetch notes, transcripts, list data, create reminders/notes, update fields). Admins can disable write tools; users can withhold write access during authentication. API keys available as fallback option.

## May 2026

1. **Improved:** MCP - ChatGPT App Store Approval - Affinity MCP now available as official ChatGPT app, removing Developer Mode restrictions. All ChatGPT plans (Plus and up) can now connect to Affinity MCP, with advanced access controls available for ChatGPT Admins on higher-tier plans.
2. **New:** Snowflake Data Share - Now available to all Advanced and Enterprise customers with self-service setup via Settings > Integrations > Snowflake. Access 20+ tables including Notes, Transcripts, Interactions, Relationship Strengths, Associations, and deleted records visibility. Data refreshed every two hours.
3. **New:** Field Value Change History - Text and Dropdown Fields - Audit trail now tracks changes to dropdown and text fields with support in Activity Feed, Webhooks API, and Field Value Changes API, enabling automation based on field changes and complete visibility into CRM updates.
4. **Improved:** Suggested Field Updates from Notes + Files - Now interprets relative dates in addition to explicit dates (e.g., "founded last year" or "received funding 3 years ago" calculated relative to note creation or file upload date), expanding structured data extraction from unstructured content.

## June 2026

1. **New:** LinkedIn Connections Import - Generally Available - All customers can upload LinkedIn connections via CSV (Settings > LinkedIn Data) to surface warm introduction paths and see collective firm connections. New in GA: two-part LinkedIn badge with Connections Card, LinkedIn Network tab on Company Profiles, "LinkedIn Connected To" list filter, AI chat support for querying connections, admin visibility into all users' import history, and improved async upload performance for large CSVs (3,000+ rows). Includes intelligent duplicate matching, upload on behalf of colleagues, and self-service undo within 3 days.
2. **New:** API V2 - 18 New Endpoints - Beta - Expanded API V2 surface area including creating notes tied to interactions, managing dropdown options on list fields, getting relationship scores for companies and people, and searching all files and notes. Enables full list configuration via API (create lists, fields, dropdown options, entries) and third-party notetaker integration.
3. **New:** Affinity MCP - 10+ New Tools - Create People, Companies, and Opportunities (top customer request), retrieve saved views, audit field update history, create lists with fields and dropdown options, access relationship intelligence for companies, and search across all notes and files. Enables building more comprehensive private capital AI agents.
4. **New:** New Lists - June Feature Update - List management (rename, delete, duplicate, favorite), field management (create/manage dropdown, ranked dropdown, and status fields with color/reorder options), and entity management (remove records from lists with one-click undo) now available in New Lists, removing key adoption blockers ahead of GA (targeted end of Q2/late July 2026).
5. **New:** Help Center Rebuild - Migrated Help Center from Salesforce to Mintlify with \~400 articles and 1,400+ redirects, featuring improved search and a new Getting Started experience with progressive tutorials. Also integrated Mintlify's Search Documentation API into Affinity AI Chat, enabling natural-language answers to product/how-to questions with cited source articles directly in Chat.
6. **New:** Affinity MCP - Official Anthropic Connector - Affinity MCP now officially listed in the Anthropic Connector Directory, simplifying setup for new Claude users (existing customers automatically migrated). Added read-only mode (disable all write tools) for admin-controlled gradual rollouts, plus new tools for logging interactions (meetings, calls, chat messages) and updating Companies, People, and Opportunities via MCP.

## July 2026

1. **New:** Databricks Data Share - Open Beta - Available to Advanced and Enterprise customers via self-service setup (Settings > Integrations > Databricks). Access 30+ tables including Notes, Transcripts, Interactions, Relationship Strengths, and Associations, with visibility into deleted records. Data refreshed every two hours.
2. **New:** Powerful List Search and Filter in MCP and API - Affinity MCP and API now support advanced searching and filtering on lists, companies, and people with AND/OR groupings and custom sorts, dramatically improving efficiency for pipeline queries and enabling new use cases like data quality agents and automated pipeline reporting.
3. **New:** Affinity Ascend - Affinity's agent platform launches for all Scale+ customers alongside AI Chat GA. Includes Meeting Prep Agent (automatic morning briefs for external meetings), Data Update Agent (AI-suggested field updates from meeting notes with confidence scores), and new Warm Intro Agent (finds ranked introduction paths across your network). Chat now supports write actions (Update Fields, Add to List, Create Notes, Create Reminders) with user confirmation before execution. Agents disabled by default for existing customers, auto-enabling August 5 for those who haven't opted out.
4. **New:** Inferred Connections (Investor ↔ Executive) - Affinity now surfaces likely relationship paths based on investor-executive history (e.g., when your firm's contact previously worked at a firm that invested in your target company), even without direct recorded activity. Displayed as connection cards on company profiles with plain-language explanations and expandable timeline views. Accessible via AI Chat and MCP, clearly labeled as "possible paths" (not blended with confirmed warm paths).
5. **New:** Restricted Opportunities - Enterprise customers can mark sensitive opportunities as restricted with per-deal allow lists; non-allow-list users see masked rows while pipeline counts remain accurate. Enforced across web, mobile (iOS 5.51.0+/Android 4.49.0+), extensions, and API. Provides native compliance solution for take-private deals and MNPI/regulatory requirements.
