Auto-creating contacts through emails
Affinity does the work for you when it comes to expanding your network of contacts (whether it be people or organizations). Here are the ways in which Affinity filters out potential spam and recognizes particular contacts into your network:
1. When an internal (you or your team members) sends an email to a set of people (who are not already contacts).
- Creates contacts for the recipients.
2. When an external (who is already a contact) sends an email to one or more internals and a set of other email addresses (who are not already contacts).
- Creates contacts for the recipients.
3. When an external (who is not already a contact) sends an email to one or more internals and at least one external who is already a contact.
- Creates a contact for the sender.
4. When an external (who is not already a contact) sends an email to one or more internals and has previously received an email from an internal.
- Creates a contact for the sender.
NOTE: Affinity requires first and last names to be associated with email addresses when auto-creating contacts. If no first and last names are found, then the current workaround is to manually create contacts with their first and last names included - then, Affinity will start syncing past and future interactions. Affinity will also create contacts when you/your team is conducting a data import from a CSV file.
